Paranormal researcher, Chad Lewis, spoke to a standing room only crowd at the library on Wednesday, January 28.

Lewis’ presentation on Minnesota’s Most Haunted Places included information and stories on reportedly haunted locations across Minnesota.

Focusing on locations that are open to the public, Lewis emphasized haunted businesses and sites that can be incorporated into a vacation trip or activity. Chad Lewis’ book, the “Minnesota Road Guide to Haunted Locations,” also focuses on a variety of publically accessible and purportedly haunted Minnesota sites.

Lewis has a graduate degree in applied psychology and works for Eau Claire based company, Unexplained Research. Lewis states that he has seen unexplained phenomena, but has never actually witnessed a full apparition. He states that the interest of his job is in gathering stories of sightings and in the possibility that the next investigation might be the “big one!”

More than 100 people showed up for the evening presentation, sponsored by the Friends of the Perham Area Public Library.

“I thought that the snowy afternoon weather might lessen the turn-out for our evening’s program, but we had virtually every chair in the library pulled out and there were still people who had to stand,” said Susan Heusser-Ladwig, librarian, adding with a laugh, that she “had no idea how many spirits were in attendance.”

The Minnesota’s Most Haunted Places presentation was a part of the library’s winter reading program, “Hot Reads for Cold Nights.”
