MARSHALLTOWN- Creative
Retirement will start off the fall
season with a ghostly journey, "Haunted
Locations in Your Own Backyard."
The Fall Luncheon will be Thursday,
Sept. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The ghostly journey presented by Chad
Lewis will take you to some of the most
haunted places in Iowa. It covers
the entire state of Iowa from the Cursed
Angel of Council Bluffs to the Hanging
Ghost of Davenport. From phantom
creatures prowling the woods to
graveyard apparitions located in your
own backyard, no place in Iowa is
without its own haunting. There
will be photos, case history, eyewitness
accounts, ghost lore, and directions.
This unique presentation encourages you
to visit these places for your own ghost
story.
Chad Lewis is a paranormal researcher
for Unexplained Research. He has
co-authored,
Iowa Road Guide to Haunted Locations,
plus other books. Remember the
article in the Times Republican
about the "legend of the chair" at
Riverside Cemetery? The book does
mention the Riverside chair legend
story.
This luncheon will be an opportunity to
learn more about Creative Retirement and
the courses offered for fall. Membership
in Creative Retirement is open to anyone
50 and older. The program year
runs from October to September.
Register by Monday prior to the
luncheon, so you can enjoy the great
Iowa stories. Call Iowa Valley
Continuing Education, 641-752-4645.
