Valley
Road

Location:
Menasha, Winnebago County, Wisconsin
|
|
The Reputed
History:
About 100 years
ago a young groom was killed on the way to his wedding when his
horse-drawn carriage was in an accident on Valley Road in
Menasha, and he was thrown into a tree and strangled to death by
his own bow tie.

The
Investigation:
We have not been
able to verify this story.
|
|
The Reputed
Phenomena:
On certain nights you can see an
apparition of the groom hanging from a tree.
|
|
The
Investigation:
Valley Road east
of Hwy 47 is technically within the Appleton city limits, so we
focused on the western stretch of the road which is within
Menasha. The only tree that overhangs the road is the one
on the north side of the road directly across from Saint John's
Cemetery. We are assuming that this is where the
apparition has allegedly been seen.
