community has had numerous problems with
vandalism. Be aware that the cemetery is under
constant surveillance.
VANDALS

The Reputed
Phenomena:
- The graveyard was
featured on Unsolved Mysteries a few years ago, and
they were able to document the ghostly activities in the
cemetery.
- The ghosts of children
have been observed running in the field next to the
cemetery.
- Some have reported
seeing the ghosts of the children playing in the
cemetery. The ghosts are even alleged to approach
people and speak to them.
- A tall, dark, shadowy
figure has been seen in the graveyard. This could be
"Blackie," the shadowy demon reported at both the Caryville
schoolhouse and the Meridean
boat landing.
- Growling sounds have
been reported and are believed to be the hellhounds.
- Things usually happen
in the graveyard after midnight and especially on Halloween.
- Ouija boards go out of
control in the cemetery.
- The Dare:
There is a neglected cemetery farther back in the
woods. If you curse or spit on one of those graves, a
boxer (i.e., a pugilist, not a dog) will appear.

The
Investigation:
- It is doubtful
that the cemetery was ever featured on Unsolved
Mysteries.
- We were unable
to locate a secondary cemetery in the woods, and the owner
of the land denies its existence.
- Investigators
have not observed anything paranormal.
