The Reputed
Phenomena:
Although there is a ghost story
that attempts to explain the phenomenon at Joe Road in
Stockbridge, we have not uncovered any legends concerning the
"Gravity Hill." It's just offered as a
"gee whiz" kind of thing with no story behind
it. If you stop your car at the right spot on the road and
put it into neutral it will appear to magically roll
uphill.
The
Investigation:
It's just a strange
optical illusion. Checking the road with a
level, we found that it was actually slanted downhill when it
appeared to be uphill.
